When the video begins, there's water. More specifically, only beams of sunlight piercing the waves can be seen, as well as a few fish here or there. Then... the silhouette of a teenage girl moving smoothly through the water, legs together as she kicks and propels herself closer. After a second her face takes up the screen, and she appears to scoop the communication device up into her hands.
The video goes dark for a minute as she shoves it into a pocket of her strange, raggedy dress. Soon, though, there's sunlight again, as Neri takes the object out to examine it more closely, sitting cross-legged on the sand in the CES. She puts on a smile.]
Hello, Barge. I am Neri. I am told I am here to help people. [
She begins, slowly, obviously thinking over her words. Her speech pattern is odd, her accent (when listened to closely), vaguely Australian:] This place is so strange. Almost nothing
real. But here... [
She moves the communicator to show off her surroundings, the beach and trees and even the soft, distant sound of birds.] Here is real enough. Not home, because no Charley, no family. But it is enough. While I help.
[
She brings the communicator back around and smiles at the screen again, a bit sadly.] I know I cannot stay here for always, in the... [
Slowly:] The.. Sea E Ess? ...But is nice to visit, when it looks like home. [
That sad smile lifts a little.] I want to learn of your homes. Of the places you like? I wish to learn.
[SPAM OPTIONS. Catch her on Deck, at the pool, in the hallways, or, lastly, in the CES.][
Upon first arriving, Neri will be on deck looking lost and lonely, in her raggedy dress and bare feet and clutching in her hand the silver pendant hung around her neck, so homesick her heart aches.
She doesn't stay there too long before moving on to the pool. She swims there for nearly an hour before the changed water gets on her nerves (in the future she'll have to stick it out longer, she'll have to get used to it eventually!) and she takes to wandering the hallways, dripping water onto the floors without a second thought.
Along the way somewhere during this exploration, she hears or figures out about the CES and, ultimately, this is where she stays for a good number of hours (miraculously, it having given her something along the lines of her home island) before someone tells her (or it may occur to her) that other people may want to use that space for other things. While she's in the CES, the climate is daylight tropical - a slice of beach with a scattering of palm trees and a fairly wide expanse of ocean.]
[OOC: I'm sick and somewhat loopy on cold medicine, so tags may be a liiiittle slow in coming today. I apologize for that. :c ]
